Still on track for holiday delivery!

Hi, everyone--
We just wanted to drop you all a quick line to let you know that as of today, everything is still on track for delivery to U.S. addresses before December 25th! We plan to have all domestic orders shipped before the USPS's specified last day to ship in time for the holidays—and as far as we now know, we will be able to do so. There are still the usual caveats to keep in mind:
- Due to the increased complexity (customs, local duties, etc.) inherent in International shipments, it is highly likely that orders sent to addresses outside of the U.S. will arrive before the 25th. It is far more likely that they will arrive sometime well into January.
- There is always the chance that some small percentage of domestic (U.S.) shipments will encounter slight delays due to operational issues within the United States Postal Service.
Important Note: We plan on "locking down" the survey on Friday of this week, and after that point you will no longer be able to make changes to your responses. So if you need to change your address, or change the color of your HELIO, etc., you must do so before December 8. To edit your info, visit this link and enter the email address you use for Kickstarter.
Also Note: There are several hundred of you who haven't yet responded to the survey. Please ensure that we have received your response as soon as possible, as we will be unable to fulfill your orders until you have done so!

BackerKit Surveys Will Be Sent Out Soon!

Hi, everyone! We're just posting a quick note to let you know that you should expect your HELIO backer survey emails to arrive in your inbox sometime in the next couple of days! Please respond to the survey as quickly as you can, in order to avoid any delays with shipping your rewards. These surveys are the only way we will be able to get your shipping address, as well as your preferences on which color(s) of HELIO units you'd like to receive. The survey is super important, so keep an eye out for an email from BackerKit.
By the way, do note that you don't have to create an account with BackerKit or anything—you can simply click on the link provided in your invitation email, and the select your options and enter your shipping address. It's pretty painless. You can even pick up an additional HELIO unit (or 4!) if you want to give them as gifts. We are excited to be working with BackerKit on this project, and we think it'll work out great for all of you.
Before we head off to finish up some things before the holiday here in the U.S., we just want to quickly direct your attention to another cool project.

Full Speed Ahead!

Hi, backers! The HELIO campaign here on Kickstarter may be over, but we're just as busy as ever here at Makers4Good. Our engineering team is working with our manufacturing partner to put the finishing touches on HELIO before we begin production. The good news is that we are still very much on schedule, and we think rewards destined to U.S. addresses will arrive before December 25th.
Our lead engineer on the project, Kelvin Leung, is headed to visit the factory in Asia this weekend in order to see the production line, and to ensure that our last round of pre-production units meets all of our requirements. It is worth noting that as we enter this "crunch time" phase with the manufacturer, it is possible that some issue may arise, and if that ends up being the case we'll keep you all informed of any developments. As of now though, everything we are seeing from the factory is looking great, and we are pretty certain that our timeline is both reachable and reasonable.
In the meantime, you can expect to get an email very soon from us (through our friends at BackerKit) that will direct you to our backer survey. It is very important that you respond to the survey as quickly as you can, as this will be the only way we'll know where to ship your rewards! We will also find out from these surveys which color(s) of HELIO you'd like to receive, as well as which nonprofit partner(s) you'd like your pledge to support. Keep your eyes peeled for these emails to arrive within the next few days—most probably early next week.

Note: If you or someone you know missed the campaign, please join us at Indiegogo, where we are currently taking pre-orders for HELIO.
Last week we ended our campaign with support from nearly 1,600 backers and at more than $120,000 in funding! The last several days of the campaign were indeed exciting, and we are really jazzed about how the campaign ended up. Thanks to each and every one of you for helping us bring HELIO—and light + power—to people around the world who need it.
Things are moving along nicely on the production front, and all indications from the factory suggest that we remain on schedule. We do expect to begin fulfilling your rewards in December, as we've planned all along. Please note that backers in the United States will likely receive their rewards before December 25th, provided that everything continues to go smoothly and according to plan. HELIO units which are destined to International addresses may take a bit longer to arrive, given the complexities of International shipping, local customs requirements and inspections, etc. We are committed to filling all Kickstarter rewards as soon as we possibly can, and we will keep you up to date on our progress along the way.
We'd like to offer one more quick reminder that HELIO is available for pre-order on Indiegogo as of now. Note that this is not a new crowdfunding campaign for the product; Indiegogo offers a program called INDEMAND, which allows creators of successful crowdfunding campaigns (on Indiegogo, on Kickstarter, or elsewhere) to continue offering their products on a pre-order basis in the time between the end of a campaign and the beginning of shipping. If you know someone who wasn't able to back us during our campaign here on Kickstarter, please let them know that they can still get a great pre-retail deal on HELIO on our Indiegogo page.
